　识文断句 1. [原句] Although he is one of China’s most famous scientists, Yuan Longping considers himself a

　farmer, for he works the land to do his research. (P10) 即使是中国最有名的科学家之一，但袁隆平仍然认为自己是个农民，因为他在田间耕作，实行科学研究。

　[点拨] 此句是一个复合句结构。主句是由 for 连接的两个并列分句，前一个分句为 Yuan Longping considers himself a farmer；后一个分句为 for he works the land to do his research ；从句为 although 引导的让步状语从句，即：Although he is one of China’s most famous scientists。

　for 引导的分句通常对前一个分句所说的话加以解释，提供判断的理由。多用于书面语，一般和前面的分句用逗号隔开。如：

　The day breaks, for the birds are singing. 天亮了，因为鸟在歌唱。
