　 The Use of It 1. 作代词, 指代前面提到的事物.

　E.g.: 1) You may borrow the book in the school library and keep it for 2 weeks. (物)

　2) You promised to write an article. You must do it. (事) 2. 代替有生命但不能或不必分阴阳性的东西.

　E.g.: When a baby is crying, it may be hungry. 3. 可用来指代双方都知 道的人 或事物. 有时指做事的人, 也可指引起某种情况的事物.

　3) It’s wind shaking the window.

　4. 指天气、时间、距离 、环境、情况等 等.

　It is (was) no good/no use/useless/senseless/waste/worthwhile/dangerous/nuisance + doing

　E.g.: 1) It is necessary for me to complete the writing on time.

　6. 用作形式宾语( 代替真实宾语不定式, 动名词, 从句), 使句子结构平稳合理.

　 E.g.:1) I found it quite pleasant to work with him.

　7. 用于强调句型. 基本句型:
