I Listen to My Students Attentively No.3 Middle School Ma Lina Good afternoon, everyone. It’s my great honor to stand here and share my opinions with all of you. I am No.56. We are all teachers. So, we all know it’s very important for the students to listen to us carefully. But, sometimes they may break this rule. What can we do? Can we punish them? Certainly, we can’t. How can we deal with it? Let me tell you a story. I still remember, when I taught for the first time, it was very noisy and the students were too exited. So I shouted: “listen carefully.” The students kept quiet for a moment. But later, they became naughty again. I was very angry and sad about it. Fortunately, I felt better soon. Because I tried my best to give my students more chances to show their own opinions and listen to them as attentively as I can. Most of them felt I honor them and they honored me very much. So, I think doing is better than saying. I listen to my students attentively at different places and different time. When someone is upset, I listen to him patiently and try to encourage him, whether he is good or not. He will be full of confidence. Because he knows I’m care about him. When someone is nervous, he may make some mistakes. I will listen to him attentively. I will ask him to forget his little mistakes, but remember he is better than yesterday. At the same time I will ask other students to listen to him attentively. When someone is too excited, I listen to him patiently, too. Maybe I will say: “you can be much better if you listen to others quietly.” I know, it’s just the beginning of my teaching career. And I believe I will pay more attention to my lovely students. I will go on listening to them attentively. Well, it’s a great honor that so many teachers listen to me attentively. Thanks for listening. |
